Artificial Reef Project Description

Reefscape Australia Aquariums was approached by an incredibly luxurious and prestigious resort, "Panacea", on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand. The Principal and owner of the resort wished to include a large saltwater aquarium within their latest development.

Construction of the resort had already commenced making the cost effective inclusion of the aquarium into the building, challenging for all parties concerned.

Reefscape worked with the Bangkok based architect, building engineer and project management teams from IPS Asia and Cornerstone Management to produce a set of working structural drawings.

Reefscape then worked with the client to produce a highly realistic artificial reef aquarium concept as live or natural coral reef aquariums are not permitted in Thailand.

Reefscape Australia Aquariums then commissioned the aquarium, trained in house maintenance staff on water collection and general maintenance.

The aquarium is now maintained by the local Reefscape branch who provide specialist maintenance and stocking support.
