Reefscape Asia was approached by construction management firm the Sweet Group to design, manufacture and install a Jelly Fish Aquarium in a resort in Phuket Thailand.

Jelly Fish are very sensitive plankton filter feeding creatures idealy requiring live food, slow circulation and clean water.

The major problem faced with Jelly fish aquariums is that Jelly fish flow with the circulation of water and get sucked up by filter intakes. This obviously must be prevented.

Reefscape not happy with any existing design, jumped into a product development process. They looked at many existing Jelly fish aquarium designs, many of which were unsightly or had cleaning issues and desided to design and manufacture new one.

The "Living Larva Lamp" Jelly Fish Tanks, illuminated from below used innovative lenses to beam coloured light up through the perforated filter base plates. The design challenge being, keeping these lenses permanently clean.

The resulting design (which can't be disclose at this time) keeps the jelly fish in mulitcoloured suspension, maintains slow, clean, water flow yet supplies the Jelly fish with natural food 24/7.

From the prototype installed in Phuket, several major firms have approached Reefscape to lisence the design and hundreds models have subsequently been ordered by various distributing firms and public aquariums around the world.
